Mystery Literacy Week
"Turning reading into the most anticipated week of the year."
The challenge
I wanted reading to feel like an event, something kids, teachers, and families got excited about, not just another classroom activity.
My leadership
Came up with the Mystery theme and vision, planned daily events for every grade, built ready-to-use resources so teachers didn't have to add to their plates, handled the scheduling and logistics, and tied literacy to movement, creativity, and a little fun.
The impact
Kids couldn't wait to see each day's mystery, teachers had everything they needed to jump in, and families got pulled into the excitement at home. It brought the whole building together around reading.
